Haven Golf Day raises money for victims of domestic violence

The charity event, sponsored by TRiM Barbershops, took place at Oxley Park Golf Club on Thursday. It started in the clubhouse before the 21 teams took to the course for 18 holes of golf, mini competitions and a chance to win trophies in categories such as ‘closest to the pin’ and ‘longest drive’.

The business community came to support the event

In Wolverhampton, an estimated 10,500 people aged 16 to 74 were victims of domestic violence from April 2022 to March 2023 and there were 11,000 reports of domestic violence incidents to police, highlighting the ‘significant need’ for The Haven’s holistic support emphasized.

The Haven Wolverhampton offers women and children a range of support services, including a helpline, wellbeing and counseling services, community outreach and financial and legal advocacy, as well as safe accommodation.

The charity is looking for businesses to promote themselves to a new, local audience by securing one of the last remaining bespoke golf day sponsorship packages.

The sponsorship opportunities provide businesses with a significant promotional opportunity and the funds raised ensure that important services for women and children provided by the charity can continue.

An evening meal and entertainment followed the day on the course.

“Joining The Haven Wolverhampton in this way demonstrates a shared vision for a more inclusive, compassionate society.”
