Celebrate the creativity of local teens at the library book launch

Event takes place at the West End Library Branch on Saturday at 2pm

Celebrate the amazing, creative achievements of local teens at the Guelph Public Library’s Teen ETCH Anthology Book Launch on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the West End Library Branch (21 Imperial Road South).

Join the party! Meet local authors Deepa Rajagopalan, Ivanka Fear, and Josée Gratton as they announce the winners of the 2024 Teen ETCH Creative Writing Contest. Refreshments will be provided as you mingle with other creative minds.

“Participating in the Teen ETCH creative writing competition is always so humbling and inspiring,” said Amy Lychwa, library assistant. “We connect with teen authors and encourage their writing talents by connecting them with local author mentors.”

Librarian Emily Tyschenko added: “This community project would not be possible without the generous support of Jeremy Luke Hill and Laura Cok of the Vocamus Writers Community – and the talented teen authors who submitted their stories and poetry to the competition. Thank you.”

The Guelph Public Library appreciates the continued support and collaboration with the Vocamus Writers Community to launch and publish ETCH 2024. A very special thank you to the Kiwanis Club of Guelph for their generous donation of $1,000 to Teen ETCH.

Enjoy reading this anthology of teen works featuring a variety of short stories and poetry selections based on this year’s theme, Ages. Buy your own copy of ETCH 2024 for $20 each or 2 for $30 at the event.

Mark your calendars! Join us as we spotlight Guelph’s creative youth.
