Businessman boosts transportation with solar-powered electric motorcycles and tricycles in Oyo

An Ibadan-based businessman, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, has boosted the transportation system with the importation of electric motorcycles and solar powered three-wheelers into Oyo State.

This significant development came on the heels of its recent introduction of the first electric bus in the state, marking a major step towards sustainable transportation.

Sanusi’s commitment to transforming the transport sector in Oyo State was evident when he initially announced his plans to bring electric buses to the pacesetter state. True to his word, the first wave of electric motorcycles and solar powered three-wheelers have arrived, ushering in a new era of eco-friendly transportation for the residents of Ona Ara Local Government, Ibadan and beyond.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, Sanusi stressed the importance of adopting green technology to combat environmental challenges and improve the quality of life of the people of Oyo State.

“The arrival of these solar-powered electric motorcycles and three-wheelers is a testament to our commitment to the economic development of our beloved state.

“We are committed to reducing our carbon footprint and providing our people with efficient, cost-effective transportation options,” he stated.

The introduction of solar-powered electric vehicles, motorcycles and three-wheelers is expected to significantly reduce air pollution and noise levels, contributing to a healthier environment.

Additionally, these transformations will deliver lower operating costs compared to traditional gasoline-powered transportation, making them an economically viable option for many.

Residents of Akaran, Amuloko, Olunloyo, Adesola, Olorunsogo and environs have expressed their enthusiasm and gratitude for this innovative initiative.
