As we approach the end of May, school is finally out, which means parents across the country are tasked with keeping kids meaningfully occupied during the upcoming holidays. Well, those who live in the east are lucky because they can always make a trip there i12 Katong for a day of healthy family fun.

This is no different in June, as the shopping center will host the Festival of FUNgiving visitors even more opportunities to spend some good old quality time with the family. With a huge indoor roller skating rink and a pop-up thrift store with children’s clothing, this is what you can expect at i12 Katong from now until June 30, 2024.

The headliner of the Festival of FUN is the Sk8erMania indoor roller skating rink. Whether you are a complete novice or a seasoned skater, everyone from the age of 6 can zoom around the colorful ice rink.

You want to go to i12 Katong’s Level 1 Atrium anytime in between 11am – 8pmby June 7-17, 2024, to hit some wheels to show off your sick moves.

To access the ice rink, you must have a minimum spend of $50 with a combination of 3 same-day receipts to redeem a Free-to Skate ticket, complete with appropriate skating equipment. Besides having a good time, keep your eyes open for the slalom performances attracted by professional skaters who take place on 12.50 – 13.00 during weekends.

There’s free parking for these theme nights after 6pm, and there are also some restaurants open late, in case you get hungry after your skating session.

If adults want to speak for themselves, that is also possible themed skating evenings exclusively for persons aged 15 and older. We’ve been informed that there will be a ’90s Disco Boogie on June 7th, while skaters will get a 2000s Blast on June 8th. These theme evenings are held from 8:00 PM – 11:30 PMso plan a late night out.

If you prefer to purchase your tickets without spending $50 elsewhere in the mall, individual tickets for the ice rink and theme nights are sold on site at Sk8terMania from $20 each.


Buy crafts at the Maker’s Market and go shopping at KidsFest


If skating isn’t really your thing, then you’ll be happy to know that there are other activities to dip your toes into during the Festival of FUN. now until June 4, 2024the Singapore Council of Women’s Organizations will take over the initiative Level 1 Atrium home KidsFest.

Those looking to renew their wardrobe can do so here, such as New2U thrift store will offer both new and used clothing for sale. Be sure to check out their selection of children’s clothing. Plus, sales proceeds go to charities, so you can be sure you’re doing something good when you shop here.

There will be a number of interactive programs where everyone can try out activities such as The great hunt, where after completing an activity card you can take home an exclusive key ring. For those who are eager to get started, take part in the free art workshops including printmaking, portraiture and fashion design.

Swing by i12 Katong from June 28-30, 2024and you will find yourself browsing Makers market complicated goods. It’s chock full of locally made crafts, such as bags, jewelry and cute crochet creations. As for the food options, deet are still up in the air, but just know that there will be a number of vendors here too, just in case your stomach starts rumbling after a long day of shopping.
