Charity netball tournament raises vital funds for mental health charities

NETBALLERS went head-to-head on the court for a charity tournament.

ACE’s Netball Club, with players from across Solihull and Birmingham, came together to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week.

The 40 players, ranging from seven-year-olds to senior teams, raised more than £450 for The Mental Health Foundation UK.

Ellie, the club’s member and PR secretary, said: “Raising money for the Mental Health Foundation is really important to us.

“So many young people are affected by mental health, especially as a result of social media. Our club strives to use sport to improve people’s lives and we want to create a safe space for everyone to be themselves and relieve stress.

“I know from playing a team sport how much it has improved my mental health and our club wants to give this opportunity to the local community.”
