Aurora College is looking for new board members for the magazine Xàgots’eèhk’!

Aurora College is once again accepting new applications for their Editorial Advisory Board.

The board is known as Xàgots’eèhk’| and publishes the journal twice a year, ensuring it is full of new submissions from across the NWT, covering different disciplines, languages and genres of research.

Each article in the magazine is peer-reviewed and included in the magazine using storytelling methods, as well as art, interviews and other creative works. Any new board members will participate in this peer review process by working with the Managing Editor.

The Board strives to ensure that their membership is diverse and represents the many different backgrounds and communities that exist in the NWT. They are particularly looking for racialized individuals, Indigenous individuals, individuals with disabilities, and 2SLGBTQ+ individuals.

The board meets virtually six times a year and applicants do not currently have to live in the North to be eligible. Current students are encouraged to apply, as well as established scholars, faculty, staff, community members, elders, researchers and artists. The individual expertise will be used to work with the authors on each issue to help develop their work, with the aim of uniting different ways of knowing within the academic setting.
