Pokemon Go’s first major event of June is called Slumbering Sands and runs from June 7-12. Throughout the event, summer and sleepy Pokemon like Slowpoke, Drowzee, Munna, and Komala will appear more often in the wild, and you’ll get your first chance to catch special versions of Slakoth, Vigoroth, and Slaking with crosshairs.

In addition to the featured monsters, players will earn double XP for catching Pokemon during the event. There will also be special event-themed Field Research tasks, which will hand out various rewards, including additional Pokemon encounters.

Pokemon Go is organizing not one, but two Community Days in June.

The first is planned Sunday June 9 and features the cute dragon Pokemon Gummy. Between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM local time, Goomy will spawn in the wild much more often than normal, and you are more likely to encounter a Shiny Goomy. After the event proper, Goomy’s evolved form Sliggoo will appear as a four-star raid boss from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM local time.

Additionally, several bonuses will be available during the Goomy Community Day event. Lure Modules and Incense last three hours instead of the usual duration, and you earn double Candy and triple Stardust for catching Pokemon. Finally, any Sliggoo you evolve between 2:00 PM and 10:00 PM local time in Goodra will learn the special Charged Attack Thunder Punch.

Later this month, Pokemon Go will host another Community Day Classic Saturday June 22. This repeat event gives players another chance to catch a previously featured Pokemon. We don’t officially know yet which Pokemon will be starring in June’s Community Day Classic, but a short teaser video points to the fire Pokemon Cyndaquil.

Day of the raid

Before June ends, Pokemon Go will host a special Raid Day on June 29. Niantic hasn’t yet announced which Pokemon will appear at the event, but the studio has teased that Mega Rayquaza will return sometime in June, making the dragon Pokemon a likely candidate.

There are even more events in the pipeline for Pokemon Go, including Pokemon Go Fest 2024. This year, Go Fest introduces the legendary Pokemon Necrozma, and it will take place across multiple dates and locations, culminating in a global virtual event in July.
