Women’s College World Series by the Numbers

Eight teams have descended on Oklahoma City to compete for the national title in the Women’s College World Series. The Texas Longhorns, Oklahoma Sooners, Florida Gators, Oklahoma State Cowgirls, UCLA Bruins, Stanford Cardinal, Duke Blue Devils and Alabama Crimson Tide survived the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament and will compete for the championship.

The Big 12, as currently constructed, leads the way with three programs, followed by the SEC and Pac-12 with two each. Duke, which won both the regular season and tournament titles, is the ACC’s lone representative.

Only two lower seeds advanced in the super regional round, Duke and Alabama. To open the Women’s College World Series, they will face two of the best programs in the history of the sport in Oklahoma and UCLA.

As the Women’s College World Series kicks off Thursday, here’s how each team stacks up statistically.
