Obituary of Robin Dunning – CA

DUNNING-Robin Polly Dunning left her beloved family to be with God and her parents on May 19. She was born in Pasadena on December 19, 1960. She died suddenly in Sacramento of a cerebral hemorrhage, surrounded by her family, having just given her final, beautiful tribute at her niece’s graduation ceremony. Robin was a graduate of Pasadena High School and the University of California at Davis with a major in psychology. She lived in Carmel for the past ten years and was actively involved in her son Brandon’s sports and school activities, her recovery community and her church. Robin’s passions and dimensions were many and diverse. She was as comfortable in heels during the symphony as she was in her cowboy boots watching the bull riding; she found great joy in music and dance; she loved the excitement of a giant game and the gentleness of nature and animals. She found meaning by making a difference for others, working with students with learning disabilities and counseling single mothers with addictions. At the time of her death, Robin was a ranch and property manager in Salinas. She is survived by her adoring and adorable son, Brandon Clarke Dunning, her beloved siblings Tracy (Eric), Cindy (Chris), Hal (Hilary) and Kimberly, her surrogate mother Aunt Mardy Love, her aunt’s nieces and nephews Robin loved it. , her cousins ​​and her aunt Sylvia McCormack, her extended family Suzanne and Terry McGowan who will raise Brandon, the McGowan/Faverty children, her devoted friend Loren Cloninger, and her many loving friends and members of her spiritual communities in recovery and worship. Everyone will miss her humor and her laughter, loved her very much and always believed in her. In recent years, Robin had traveled with her church to help rebuild after Hurricane Katrina. Moved by that experience and committed to missionary work, she was close to completing her training to travel to India with her missionary group. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Robin Polly Dunning Memorial Mission Scholarship Fund c/o Shoreline Community Church, 2500 Garden Road, Monterey, CA., 93940. A service celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 3 at Shoreline Community Church. Instead of the black of mourning, clothing as bright as Robin’s smile is requested.
