Positive Money Statement: April 2020 – March 2023

May 28, 2024

Our latest triennial evaluation report on our work for the period April 2020 – March 2023 is now available.

We send regular updates to our supporters, funders and other stakeholders, but our annual review papers are an opportunity to take stock of our work over time and reflect together on all our achievements.

We are very proud of our impact during this period: helping to deliver a new green mandate for the Bank of England, being a leading civil society voice on the future of our payments system, and exposing and challenging the influence of the financial sector. lobby. We continued to work with new partners on joint campaigns, including at key moments of influence such as COP26.

Like most organizations, we had to adapt our way of working to COVID-19 during this period. The pandemic, an ongoing climate crisis, rising inflation and a cost of living crisis have also prompted many people to fundamentally question how our economy works and whose interests it serves. This provided us with opportunities to increase our impact through reactive work by policymakers in responding to these crises.

At the beginning of 2021, we also adopted a new five-year strategy that gave us greater clarity and ambition about our vision and purpose. Anti-oppression is fundamental to our mission, and during this time we have worked to embed it in everything we do, including our strategy, our analytics, our campaigns and projects, and our internal operations. Positive Money also developed further as an international organization during this time. Our EU office has gone from strength to strength with an expanded team, and our new US office has begun to spread our vision across the Atlantic.

Make yourself a cup of tea and read the full report here. The assessment describes our impact on a range of key topics, and summarizes how we are working to achieve change, our international development and our finance and financing.

We are very grateful to all the supporters, donors, funders and partner organizations we have worked with during this period and who have made our work possible. We couldn’t do our work without you, so thank you for all you do.

We look forward to making an even greater impact in the years to come as we continue to reimagine money, banking and the economy for the good of people, communities and the planet.
